Admission and registration

Application is made via antagning.se. Courses running fall 2025 will open for late registration via antagning.se on July 15.

When you receive your admission decision, you will need to do the following in order to begin your studies:

1. Activate your student account, if you are new to Uppsala University: Activate account - Uppsala universitet (uu.se)
2. Register yourself on the course you're going to study. This is done in the student records system called Ladok.

Important: You will lose your place if you miss the final date for registration. Registration usually closes about a week before the course starts. For most courses starting on September 1, you therefore need to register by August 24 at the latest. You will find information about the specific date for your course in Ladok.

If you need help, contact us through email, info@idehist.uu.se before the deadline for the registration.

Students admitted with conditions (who do not yet meet the eligibility requirements) cannot register. If you are one of these students, please contact the course administrator, info@idehist.uu.se, to confirm your interest as soon as possible. No later than the start of the course, you'll need to show us a certificate that you are eligible.

When the last date of registration has passed, and if the course has vacancies, the department will begin contacting students on the waiting list via the email addresses they used in their application. The department may contact students on the waiting list up until the course begins. Be sure to check your email (including spam filters). If you are offered a place on the course, please notify the department as soon as possible whether you wish to register or not.

If you've been admitted to a course but do not want to register, please cancel your registration on antagning.se or in Ladok.

If you have registered, but no longer want to take the course, you need to report your discontinuation in Ladok. Discontinuation within three weeks of the start of the course means that you will be able to apply for the course next semester/year.
