New student
As a new student, you must start by activating your student account. You can do this a few days after you have received your second acceptance letter. When you have activated your student account, you must register for the courses you are going to study.
You must then register for the courses and programs you are going to read. Otherwise, you may lose your study place.
Registration
We apply online registration in the student records system Ladok for all our courses.
The registration period opens normally two weeks before the course starts and closes one week into the course.
If you are admitted to more than 30 ECTS credits within your programme during one semester, you will not be able to register for any of the courses. You must decline any course(s) in Ladok which exceeds the 30 credit limit. If you are unsure which courses you should keep, or how to decline, we recommend you to contact your Study Counsellor.
If you have problems registering contact the Student Office IT before the course starts.
Re-registration
If you want to retake or attend parts of a course that you have been registered for before, you must contact the Student Office IT to get re-registered. Please note that re-registrations are only possible as far as space allows.
Discontinuation of studies
If you have registered but no longer want to take the course, you can discontinue the course. If you discontinue within three weeks after starting the course and do not have any results, you may apply and be admitted to the course again. If you discontinue after three weeks, you do not have the right to take the course at a later time. You can also not apply for the same course again.
On the waiting list
If you are on the waiting list for a course, you have to be offered a place before you can register. If you are offered a place, you may have to confirm your acceptance promptly by online registration in the student records system Ladok.
The registration period closes one week into the course. If more than a week has passed into the course, you must contact the Student Office IT . We contact the teacher and ask if it is too late to skip the course.
If you are on the waiting list and don’t hear anything from us, it means the course is full.
Admitted with condition
Being conditionally admitted means that you do not have full eligibility for the course. The Study advisors must check that the condition, the prerequisite, is met before you can register. The condition disappears when the eligibility requirements are fulfilled and you can then be registered.
Late application for courses
Did you forget to apply for your next semester? Once applications that were submitted on time have been processed, applications will reopen and students will be able to submit a late application. Late applications will only be considered if there are still places available on the courses. Everything about the application – instructions, key dates and deadlines, and more – can be found at universityadmissions.se.
