About the course
This course is recommended primarily for students with no or little previous knowledge about European ecosystems. It gives insights into ecosystem structure and function in boreal ecosystems (terrestrial and aquatic), as well as practical field methods for plant- and animal community analysis in these ecosystems. Furthermore, the course gives good opportunities to compare with nature in the student's own part of the world. In particular, we draw attention to comparisons with the vegetation in climatically and geologically similar parts of northeast Asia.
Since the course is conducted in the form of field studies at two different field stations (in Bohuslän and Uppland), we take out a course fee of 5 000 SEK. For fee-paying students this cost is not included in the tuition fee.
