About the course
Visual Communication of Data is a course designed for students who want to become skilled at explaining, exploring, and communicating data clearly and engagingly. You'll learn the fundamentals of information visualisation, how humans perceive visual information, and how to craft compelling, audience‑adapted data stories.
The course blends theory with hands‑on practice: you will work with modern visualisation tools, create your own visualizations, and practice giving and receiving constructive critique. Ethical and inclusive visualisation—such as color‑blind‑friendly design and communicating uncertainty—is also emphasised.
Teaching includes lectures, labs, and a group project where you develop a visualisation‑driven narrative. Ideal for students interested in strengthening their skills in data analysis, communication, or design.
