120 credits in science/engineering. One of the courses Electronics I or Basics of Electrical Engineering I: Components and Circuits. One of the courses Electric Measuring Techniques, Applied Analogue Electronics or Analogue Electronics. One of the courses Electromagnetism I or Basics of Electrical Engineering III: Field Theory. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

About the course

Component knowledge: Strong and weak sides regarding electric disturbances (EMC) and heat.

EMC-teori: Disturbance sources and methods to limit disturbances from own and external generated noise. Exercise with an oscilloscope and network analyser.

Schematic capture: Libraries- and component-handling. Function verification via rule-checking tool (not simulation). Computer exercises with advanced ECAD system.

Layout: Libraries - and component handling. Design rules and practical handling of EMC problem. Design verification. 3D modelling. Design for production. Computer exercises with advanced ECAD system.
