  • Electrostatics: electric charge and fields, electric potential, electric dipole, Gauss law, capacitors, electrostatic energy
  • Magnetism: magnetic fields and forces
  • Electromagnetic waves and optics: reflection, refraction, dispersion, polarisation, interference and diffraction
  • Measurement instruments and components in circuits
  • Biotechnological applications of electrostatics, magnetism, electromagnetic waves and optics
  • Laboratory exercises: introduction to electric measurements and circuits, capacitor lab, polarisation of light, wave character of light.
