About the course
The expression "a picture is worth a thousand words" refers to the idea that complex stories can be described with just a single image. The expression is also valid in the scientific area and expresses what scientific visualisation is about. When large and complex data sets are resulting from experiments and computations, visualisation is a way to give deeper insight and knowledge. Scientific Visualisation deals with these, methods that offer a way to see the unseen.
In the course, you will learn how to select appropriate methods for a given data set, possibilities and limitations with methods, and use visualisation toolkits. The focus will be on using script programming in combination with VTK (the Visualisation Toolkit) and this way creating great visualisations
