120 credits with (1) 90 credits in earth science and 15 credits in chemistry, (2) 90 credits in physics and 30 credits in earth science, 3) 90 credits engineering and 30 credits earth science, or 4) 90 credits geology. Participation in Mineralogy and Gemmology. English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

About the course
The course addresses the geochemistry of volcanic rocks from a variety of settings including subduction zones, intraplate volcanism and exotic volcanism. Magmatic systems with focus on granites, layered intrusions and magma plumbing. You will get hands on experience of using geochemical data through project work. Courses 1MP046, 1MP036 and 1MP037 are designed to fit together.
