About the course
Hydrogen represents an important piece in the transition of the global energy system. In the course, the underlying reasons for hydrogen’s strategic importance, as well as its current and potential future applications, are discussed and analysed. We follow the entire value chain - from production and storage to distribution and end use - highlighting how these components interact. In addition, the role of hydrogen within the broader energy system is examined, with particular emphasis on the technical, systemic, and economic conditions that shape its development.
