About the course
Modern urban and regional planning in Sweden and other industrialised countries grew out of the social and economic conditions created by the industrial revolution. Political and ideological goals were traded in socially oriented welfare goals, as part of comprehensive planning; planning that was similarly built and designed nationwide. Today, planning differs locally, regionally and nationally. The course describes and analyses these challenges for planning in terms of power, politics and ideology.
