About the course
Theoretical Philosophy C consists of three sub-courses: two elective courses of 7.5 credits each and an essay writing course (a degree thesis for a Bachelor's degree) of 15 credits.
The elective courses vary from semester to semester. Examples of previous electives are Modality: How the World Could, Would and Must Be; Ancient Philosophy as a Way of Life; Perspective in Language and Thought; Applied Epistemology; Between Fiction and Non-Fiction; Conceptual Engineering; Plato's Gorgias; Philosophy of Time. See upcoming elective sub-courses.
Upon completion of the course, you are expected to have made a first contact with your own research, presented in the form of an essay of 15 credits.
Note: Exchange students whose home universities do not accept essays at this level may replace the essay/thesis course with two additional elective courses (see the page Bachelor's Elective Sub-Courses for courses available). However, with this option the exchange student will not qualify for a Swedish Bachelor's degree with Theoretical Philosophy as the main field of study.
