Admission and registration

Are you admitted to the Master's Programme in Aesthetics or Master's Programme in Philosophy starting autumn 2025? Welcome to the Department of Philosophy at Uppsala University!

To start your studies you need to:

  • activate your Uppsala University student account, and
  • start your programme by registering for the first course of the programme in Ladok for students.

Registration is open July 24–August 25, and the semester starts September 1.

Activate your Uppsala University student account

Before you can start your studies you need to activate your Uppsala University student account.

When you have activated your student account you will be able to start your programme as well as log-in to Uppsala University's learning platform Studium.

The student account also gives you access to student resources at Uppsala University such as e-books in the University Library, Office 365, printing possibilities, and e-mail, among other things.

Start your programme in Ladok for students

Once your student account is active you log-in to Ladok for students and register for the first course of your programme. When you register for this course you confirm that you accept your place in the programme and your programme will automatically start. Registration is open July 24–August 25.

  • If you are fully admitted, you register for the course 5FP127 Writing and Doing Philosophy. This is the first course of both master's programmes.
  • NB, if you are conditionally admitted you cannot register in Ladok for students. Please complete your application with the missing documentation. As from the middle of August your documents will be checked and you will be contacted either by the university (through universityadmissions.se) or the department (by email). If you haven't been contacted and still cannot register in Ladok for students by August 26, please contact Johan Löfström by e-mail.
NB, if you are conditionally admitted pending on fee payments, please contact Fee Master.

Ladok is Sweden's national study registry. This is where your studies are documented and this is where you can follow up on, for instance, your admissions, registrations, and study results, and where you eventually will apply for your degree. Visit Ladok for studens whenever you want to check where you are in your studies.

Log in to the learning platform Studium

When your student account is active and you have started your programme in Ladok it is time to log-in to Studium.

Studium is Uppsala university's e-learning platform where all information on the individual courses you take is available (schedules, general and detailed syllabi, lists of teachers, reading lists and instructions, etc.).

Studium is also used as an information platform for students in the department's master's programmes. Each programme has its own information room and yours will be visible in your personal Studium overview once you have logged in. In this room you will find much information related to your programme studies, including upcoming elective courses. Visit your master's information room regularly during your studies.

Even before you have access to Studium you can find information on elective courses this autumn on the web page Courses Within the Master's Programmes.
