About the course
The Celts once occupied large parts of Europe including areas such as modern France, Austria and Switzerland as well as Ireland and Britain. In this course you will be introduced to the early history of the Celts and discover what kind of society they had, finding out, among other things, about the king, the druids and the position of women. You will also discover what the Greeks and Romans thought about the Celts and learn something about Celtic mythology.
Outline for distance course: The education course is based on self-study and communication through the web-based learning environment, which contains all information regarding the course and course activities. Teaching takes the form of pre-recorded lectures, assigned readings, exercises, and discussions. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required to follow the course since all teaching and examinations are done online. Taking a distance course means that you yourself largely determine when you study since you are not as tied to scheduled classes. Note, however, that this kind of course requires as much effort as an ordinary campus course and that it is equally important to meet set deadlines.
