About the course
The course provides such knowledge and skills in theory and method that are necessary to carry out a linguistic investigation of a certain scope. You get a basic orientation in scientific theory as well as an overview of common approaches and working methods in linguistics, also taking practical studies into account. The course discusses the various stages of the research process in relation to the possibilities and limitations of linguistics. You are introduced to basic concepts within qualitative and quantitative methods and your knowledge of research ethical principles and aspects is deepened. You train the ability to critically review and evaluate scientific literature by studying current linguistic studies.
