About the course

A good text works well for a reason. On the course Professional Text Editing, you will learn what makes a text work and develop the ability to identify what a text needs to communicate effectively.

During the course, you will develop your ability to review and edit texts and adapt them for different audiences and media. Drawing on research and established professional practice, you will explore what makes texts readable and accessible and practise assessing the quality of texts.

The course will also give you insight into professional roles involving text editing and supporting writers, such as editors, copy-editors and proofreaders. You will practise giving feedback and reflect on how feedback can be tailored to help writers with different needs and circumstances develop their writing.
