About the course
How does language contribute to creating and recreating power relations, ideologies and identities? This is explored within linguistic critical discourse studies. In this course, you get an overview of current directions in the field and we discuss and apply basic theoretical and methodological concepts needed to study the interdependence between language and society from a critical perspective. The course is based on an approach where not only speech and writing but also images, layout and medium are taken into account in the analysis. Within the course, the opportunity is given for individual deepening, as one of the tasks is to plan a research study.
