– My first impression of Uppsala was that it was a beautiful city, with a forest just across from where I lived. The air was fresh and humid, and it was very relaxing.

– This week I am working on my thesis research, doing some strength training, and celebrating a friend's birthday.
What is your reason for studying?
– My reason for studying is to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge, particularly in the field of theoretical physics.

How did you choose your programme?
– I chose it because of Uppsala’s strong reputation in theoretical physics and its inspiring research environment. The curriculum offers both depth and flexibility, letting me explore my interests in quantum field theory and string theory.
What is the best thing about studying at Uppsala University?
– It is its vibrant academic community that combines world-class research with a collaborative atmosphere. It’s a place where curiosity is encouraged, and student are inspired to think critically and creatively.
Was there anything you found difficult or surprising when you started your studies at Uppsala University?
– At first, I was surprised by the high level of independence expected from student, especially in managing research and coursework. It was challenging at first, but it quickly helped me develop stronger problem-solving skills and academic confidence.
Describe the student life!
– Student life in Uppsala is lively and diverse, with the nations offering countless ways to meet people from different cultures. They organise social events, activities, and traditions that make it easy to connect and explore new interests. It creates a real sense of community alongside academic life.
Name three things you are doing this week!
– This week, I’m studying for some courses, going to the gym, and taking a short trip to Stockholm.
What is your reason for studying, or your ultimate goal?
– My goal is to explore fundamental physics through string theory and high-energy environments and contribute to research or work in the quantum cryptography field.
What advice would you give to someone considering applying for this programme?
– I’d advise them to be curious, open-minded, and ready to embrace both challenges and independent learning. Engaging actively with courses and the research community makes the experience much more rewarding.

– The Botanical Garden. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and a perfect spot to relax or reflect between studies.

– The Carolina Rediviva Library. It’s quiet, inspiring, and has a unique historic atmosphere that makes focusing on studies really enjoyable.
