Learning outcomes
After the course the student shall
- have basic knowledge in atmospheric physics and the structure of the atmosphere
- have basic knowledge about atmospheric motions (dynamics)
- have basic knowledge about the earth's climate ant the cause of it
- know about meteorological observations and measurements
Content
Radiation, temperature and wind conditions in the atmosphere. Condensation and precipitation. Air masses and fronts. Low and high pressure areas. Tropical meteorology. Meteorological standard instruments and their accuracy. Cloud classification. Climatology.
Instruction
Lectures and home assignments.
Assessment
Written Examination (6 ECTS) at the end of the course. The home assignments corresponds to 1.5 ESTS. To pass the course both the written examination and the home assignments must be passed.
A student who fails the exam may try again in agreement with the director of study.
