Entry requirements

BSc 180 ECTS credits with minimum 90 ECTS credits in Physics, Earth Science or Biology.

Learning outcomes

After the course the student shall

  • have gained a deeper understanding of how the climate can vary on a time scale from 10 year up to hundreds of million years (paleoclimatology)
  • be able to use basic knowledge in meteorology to understand climate
  • have knowledge about methods used in paleoclimatology, climate indicators, dating methods and climate factors
  • understand the difference between a climate fluctuation and climate change
  • have knowledge about methods used to investigate / predict future climate.
