Entry requirements

At least 180 credits (i.e. three years of full-time studies), in biology, (bio-)medicine, biotechnology, pharmacy, pharmaceutical bioscience, (pharmaceutical)chemistry, medical science, agriculture, animal science, veterinary medicine or similar fields giving relevant knowledge in cell biology, genetics (bio)chemistry and molecular biology.

Knowledge and practical experience of laboratory experiments in life sciences.

Proficiency in English (see link: eligibility requirements).

Passed previous courses within the Master programme in Infection Biology.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course the student should be able to:

- participate in planning of a scientific study

- practically carry out a scientific study

- orally present a scientific study

- present a scientific study in writing

Content

The course consists of an independent advanced assignment and is carried out individually under supervision support. In the work should theoretical and methodological knowledge from completed courses of the Master programme in Infection Biology be applied, broadened and deepened from a scientific perspective. The work implies literature search, project planning and critical analyses of scientific literature and of own results and also oral and written presentation.
