Entry requirements
Completed studies comprising 60 credits within subjects with relevance for the project work. The applicant must enclose a certificate from the director of studies showing that supervisor and project description have been approved.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student should, with some support, be able to:
• Plan, carry out and document experimental work
• Describe orally and in writing performed experiments and their theoretical background
Content
Under the guidance of a researcher, the student will participate in a specified project for 5 weeks. By studying literature assigned by the supervisor, the student will obtain an understanding of the theoretical background of the project.
Instruction
Laboratory work and self-study under supervision. Participation in seminars relevant to the subject of the project assigned by the supervisor. The instruction can be given completely or partly in English.
Assessment
For a Pass grade, the student should fulfil the learning outcomes of the course. This includes presenting the project work as a seminar within the group where the work has been carried out. Furthermore, a report should be written and approved by the examiner. The grade passed or failed is given by the examiner after consultation with the supervisor.
