Learning outcomes
After having passed the course the student should be able to:
- explain how the integration of wind power works and impacts the electrical power system
- analyse the role that wind power has in the electricity system
- describe and assess key technical features and basic concepts used in power grid integration
- describe and assess the economic issues related to the grid connection of wind power
- analyse electricity markets in some different countries
Content
This course covers the role that wind power has in the electrical power system. This brings together both the technical and economic aspects of grid integration for wind power. Furthermore, the course includes information about wind power technology and systems integration with emphasis on grid connection and electricity markets in different countries.
Instruction
The course is given as a net-based course. Assignments are submitted to the e-classroom on the Internet and the student will receive personal feedback by the teacher. A forum for discussion is available.
