Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Proficiency in English equivalent to the general entry requirements for first-cycle (Bachelor's level) studies.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student shall have chosen and specified a research project for his or her master thesis, posed research questions and identified methodological and theoretical tools to address the same, completed an overview of source material and literature and a bibliography of the field in question.
Content
This course aims at creating a potentially successful and well-reflected structure and plan for independent work on a master thesis. This includes setting a topic, identifying research questions and locating the place, importance and nature of these in relation to previous and current scholarship in the chosen scholarly context. Contents and perspectives of this module are adapted to the individual project of each student.

Assessment
Seminar participation and presentations, written assignments.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
