Content
Historical musicology is a scholarly perspective that may be applied to all musical manifestations from all periods of history, including those from the present time. This study has continued to be a central tenet within the discipline of musicology, with a wide range of theoretical approaches and methodological tools. In this module we study a number of influential and central traditions, texts and theories from historical musicology, and their situation in wider intellectual contexts.

Assessment
Seminar participation and presentations, written assignments.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method.
