General entry requirements
Learning outcomes
The education aims to give an orientation in the Near East's older history and culture.
After completed course, the student should, to acquire the grade Passed, at least be able to:
- generally account for the historical course of events, most important archaeological findings, culture and religion in the Near East.
Content
The course is not divided in sub-courses:
Orientation in the Near East's older history, archaeology, art and religion. Short overview of the literature.
Instruction
The teaching consists of lectures, exercises and examination parts. The student's independent learning activities are of crucial importance to the work on the course. Participation in all the teaching is recommended.
Assessment
The course has two moments of examination:
1. continuous written tests;
2. home examination.
For the grade Pass (G), Pass is required in both moments. For the grade Pass with distinction (VG), Pass with distinction is required in at least one of the moments as well as a result in the other moment that, after an aggregate of expertise and presentations of facts in both moments, is estimated to correspond to a higher grade.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
