Learning outcomes
Regarding knowledge and understanding the student is expected to be able to on completion of the course:
- Explain the concept of e-services,
- Explain the principles behind e-service delivery,
- Explain client-server interactions in a web application with dynamic information content.
Regarding competence and skills the student is expected to be able to on completion of the course:
- Model the requirements for a web application based on an analysis of an e-service and its interaction with other e-services,
- Program a web application with an associated interface, business logic, and database,
- Consider information security when programming web applications.
Regarding judgement and approach the student is expected to be able to on completion of the course:
- Evaluate e-services based on service outcomes and customer benefit.
Content
The course aims to provide knowledge about modeling and development of e-services for distribution via the Internet. The course will cover server-side programming against databases, as well as client programming. The programming will take place within the framework of the Web 2.0 paradigm.

Lectures, lessons, and labs.
Assessment
Seminar, assignments, and laboratory exercises.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator or a decision by the department's working group for study matters.
