Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to
- describe the concept of culture
- identify and analyse cultures from an individual, group and organisational perspective,
- write and orally present a report based on a cultural analysis,
- examine and critically review another student's cultural analysis report,
- describe different scientific methods.
Content
Cultural norms and perceptions and their impact on the individual, group and organisation. Different aspects of diversity and their importance in creating a sustainable organisation. Cultural analysis using the letter method. Write, present and critically review a report. Scientific methods with a focus on data collection and analysis.
Instruction
Lectures, discussions in groups, seminars and workshop.
Assessment
Written assignments (1 credit), active participation in seminars (1 credit) and oral and written presentation of the final report with accompanying oral and written critical review (3 credits).
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may decide to make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding targeted pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
