Interview with Greta
I still haven't completely made up my mind, but my main goal would be to work in a museum and spread the love and interest for History.
- Greta Legnani on her goals after university studies.

Why did you choose this particular program?
History always intrested me, and here I found the perfect program focused on the time period that intrested me the most. What also caught my attention, was the focus on the cultural and social aspects which are my main intrests.
What did your academic path look like before you started this program?
I did my bachelor in Cultural Heritage at the University of Milan. Since I was little, Art History was one of my passions, and it still is, but during my studies, I understood that History was what I actually wanted to pursue.
What has been the most fun and interesting part of your studies so far?
I really like how different it is from what I was used to, the seminars, and the fact that we are encouraged to take part in discussions, compare our thoughts, and not just listen to lectures.
What have you found to be the most challenging aspect of your studies?
English not being my mother tongue sometimes makes things a bit complicated, since sometimes words seem to escape me, making it difficult to get my point across. But it is getting easier now, even if it has been just a couple of months; at the end of the day, practice makes it perfect.
How would you describe your experience of the difference between a bachelor’s and a master’s program?
They are pretty different, in my bachelor all the courses were just lectures with minimum interaction between us students and with the professors. Here we are encouraged to interact and express our opinions.
What skills have you developed during your time as a student in this program - both academic and those of everyday life?
I am getting more comfortable with the idea of public speaking and expressing my thoughts.
Do you have any specific goals with your education? Which ones?
I still haven't completely made up my mind, but my main goal would be to work in a museum and spread the love and interest for History.
Has the program met your expectations so far?
Yes Absolutely! My expectations were high but they were definitely met!
What would you say to someone considering applying to one of the master’s programs at the Department of History at Uppsala University?
I would tell them to absolutely go for it!
What is the best part of studying at Uppsala University?
I'd say the support given to the students. Everyone here is interested in helping you succeed and give your best.
Outside of your studies, what do you enjoy doing in Uppsala?
I honestly really enjoy hangig around town, it's a very beautiful place. I like to stroll around town and go to a cafe with friends or even by myself, catching up on some reading.
