Prof. Per Ahlberg

Team member Ahlberg

Per Ahlberg is a vertebrate palaeontologist who studies the large-scale morphological evolution of vertebrates using palaeontology, comparative anatomy, and developmental biology. He specialises in the origin and early evolution of tetrapods, where his discoveries include the earliest known tetrapod body fossils and (with Grzegorz Niedźwiedzki) trackways, but he has also investigated other evolutionary problems, especially the early evolution of jawed vertebrates. Per is the ERC grant holder and team head, and coordinates this multidisciplinary project.

Prof. Per Ahlberg is Professor of Evolution and Developmental Biology at the Programme of Evolution and Development with the Department of Organismal Biology of Uppsala University in Sweden. His departmental webpage can be found here
