Continued support for CEMFOR for 2025-2027 from the Faculty of Theology

After having been evaluated in 2023, CEMFOR has been awarded continued support from the Faculty of Theology for the period 2025-2027. The evaluation report praises CEMFOR for having made “an important and unique contribution nationally and, to some extent, internationally”, to consolidate and support multidisciplinary studies on racisms in the plural. In particular, the report emphasizes that CEMFOR works in a spirit of “pluralism and mutual respect, and a recognition of the value of different research perspectives on racism”. The report further emphasizes the importance of CEMFOR’s work given the “contemporary political moment in Sweden and Europe, characterised precisely by what the Research Director, the Chair of the Advisory Board, and critical international research define as the normalisation of racism and a dismantling of universalist democratic principles that shaped much of the post-1945 era in the West – in their observance and in their breach”.
