Historic buildings and settings
Uppsala is a town rich in historic cultural settings. Many of them relate to Uppsala University. The venerable buildings of the University are still in use today for teaching and as workplaces.
University Main Building
The University Main Building is used for lectures, conferences, concerts and university ceremonies.

Gustavianum
Gustavianum, Uppsala University’s oldest building, was completed in 1625.

The University Park
The University Park is surrounded by a number of buildings of historic significance.

Carolina Rediviva
The university library moved to Carolina Rediviva in 1841.

The Botanical Garden
In the 18th century, the Botanical Garden moved from Svartbäcksgatan to its current location near the castle.

The Linnaeus Garden
The current Linnaeus Garden was the original site of the botanical garden before it moved to the area by the castle.

Munken
The Munken Block is located between Västra Ågatan and Trädgårdsgatan was the University's first department of chemistry.

Skytteanum
Skytteanum is the residence of the Johan Skytte Professor in Eloquence and Political Science.

Regnellianum
Regnellianum, located on the corner of Trädgårdsgatan and Slottsgränd, was until 1968 a department of physiology and pathology.

The Oxenstierna Building
The Oxenstierna House was completed in 1664 and was one of the town's few stone buildings at the time.

Polacksbacken
In the first decades of the 20th century, Polacksbacken was employed as a site for barracks and exercise grounds by the Uppland Regiment.

Theatrum Œconomicum
