A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university
Learning outcomes
After accomplishing the course the student is expected to:
-Be oriented in current theoretical trends in the anthropological study of development.
-Possess a basic understanding of different institutional contexts of international development cooperation.
-Be able to find relevant information and draft an overview of a specific topic as a desk-study.
-Posses the skills of how to develop Terms of References.

Contents
The objective of the course is to focus on how anthropological practice works in applied contexts, especially that of international development cooperation. The course will be based on lectures by academics and professionals working in ministries, government organisations, consultancy firms and NGOs combined with practical assignments such as the writing of policy papers, baseline studies and literature reviews, as well as to elaborate Terms of References and assess policy documents.
Instruction
The course is comprised of one or more of the following forms: lectures, seminars, field practise and/or counselling. Language of instruction is English.
Assessment
The examination will be in one or more of the following forms: home exam, memo writing, group work, active seminar participation and/or oral exam.
