About the course

Provides an overview of renewable energy as an interdisciplinary scientific field. Technological issues are discussed alongside socio-economic and environmental questions. Particular emphasis is placed on techniques with relevance to chemistry. Examples of topics that may be covered include: global energy systems, biofuel, artificial photosynthesis, photovoltaics, batteries and fuel cells. Teaching format: research seminars, literature reading, discussion sessions and student presentations.
