About the course

This course focuses on concepts of security, such as military and non-military security threats. Emphasis is placed on different theoretical perspectives and how they can explain actors' security policies. To practice the ability to analyse conflict developments within a region, a country or between two countries, you finish the course by writing a scenario analysis guided by the theories and concepts that are covered.

The courses Peace and Conflict Studies A I and A II can jointly correspond to Peace and Conflict Studies A, 30 credits. A I and A II can be studied in either order.

Outline for distance course: Teaching principally consists of self-studies and correspondence with the head teacher via an online platform. To participate in the course, students need a computer and access to internet. There are no common course sessions. The teaching language is English; however, assignments can also be submitted in Swedish.
