About the course

How are men portrayed in games? What roles can men play? In this course you will explore men and masculinities in games based on five themes: friendship; fatherhood; militarized masculinities; LGBTQIA+ and queer masculinities; and men and masculinities more generally. The course involves practical exercises where you investigate different possibilities to design and visualize men and masculinities in games. You will also explore different theoretical perspectives on men and masculinities in, and connected to, games.
