About the course

The course provides broad insights into Swedish culture and everyday life in Sweden by examining areas like everyday life, modernity, ethnicity, workplace culture, youth culture and the cultural impact of globalisation and new economies. With cultural and ethnological analytic perspectives on the individual and society, the course aims to develop and deepen your knowledge of cultural encounters and ethnicity, modernity, the new economy, the electronic revolution, communications and media, and the many varieties of popular culture.

An important part of the course is conveying methodological knowledge of ethnological research and providing training in fieldwork and ethnological writing. The course can be seen as an essential part of preparing for a profession in medicine, technology, media, management and ICT-related fields.
