Food Environment Actions for the Promotion of Health
The triple burden of malnutrition implies that three themes driven by urbanisation, food systems transformation and socio-economic inequalities. This CoRE comprises three core ARUA institutions, two core institutions from The Guild and other public, private and nongovernmental organisation from both Africa and Europe.
It seeks to advance the study of food environments through cutting-edge research, develop the next generation of scholars through an equitable capacity-building programme with support for early career researchers and engage in collaborative research, education and policy-related activities to enhance food environments.
The disciplinary and sectoral diversity represented by this CoRE supports local research and engagement, while at the same time developing collaborative engagements to understand food environment drivers and their implications for planetary and human health.
Jane Battersby, University of Cape Town and Meena Daivadanam, Uppsala University lead the cluster, which is provided coordinating support by Jecinta Okumu the Forum for Africa Studies.
