Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament

The issue of nuclear weapons has resurfaced as a key global concern. In 2021, Uppsala University was selected to establish a national knowledge centre on nuclear disarmament at the initiative of the Government of Sweden. The AMC provides multidisciplinary research, education and policy support to facilitate nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and arms control.

Research

The centre coordinates working groups for interdisciplinary research on different aspects of nuclear disarmament. AMC also hosts PhD students and guest researchers.
