Welcome to SweDeliver Webinar with Anton Norberg, PhD student in the Parenteral drug delivery Work Package, presenting his project Subcutaneous administration of biotherapeutics: In vitro properties and bioavailability and absorption rate in vivo.
At this autumn's fifth SweDeliver webinar, we meet Anton Norberg, PhD student at the Department of Medicinal chemistry, who in his ongoing research is studying how molecular properties of peptide and protein drugs affect their mobility and tendency to aggregate through physicochemical interactions with components of subcutaneous tissue and how these properties affect the rate of absorption and bioavailability of the drug. Anton's project aims to develop new in vitro models to enable prediction of the absorption of subcutaneously administered drugs
Anton Norberg's research is integrated into the SweDeliver Parenteral drug delivery Work Package, an environment developing new formulations and improved systems for drug delivery via injection. Anton is carrying out his project in close collaboration with AstraZeneca, Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
Researcher bio Anton Norberg is a licensed pharmacist after graduating from Uppsala University in 2023. In the summer of 2021, Anton completed the SweDeliver summer research internship at APL. After graduation, he worked at the Cytiva R&D department as a research engineer. In autumn 2023, Anton was recruited to a PhD student position at Per Hansson's research group at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry.
