Research activities at the Tandem Laboratory
The Tandem Laboratory conducts cutting-edge radiocarbon dating as well as ion beam based materials analysis and modification in a wide range of fields; from fundamental research to practical applications for industry and society.
Radiocarbon dating and AMS
Radiocarbon dating using accelerator mass spectrometry combines high precision with extreme sensitivity, and is used in fields such as archaeology, geology, glaciology and medicine.
Materials research
Our expertise within ion beam induced modification of materials as well as non-destructive analysis of materials composition and structure contributes to basic research and industrial applications in a wide range of fields.
