Andrés Martínez Mora

I work with Medical Image Analysis, mostly with whole-body MR images from the UK Biobank database (> 40,000 voluntary subjects). I develop methods related to the extraction of biomarkers from these images, with a special focus on type-2 diabetes. These methods range from the use of modern techniques as deep learning or whole-body image registration with the in-house technique Imiomics to the use of more classical statistical techniques as linear regression with relevant covariates.

I come from Madrid (Spain). I studied my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering in Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, defending my Bachelor's Thesis in a novel method to try to reduce MR imaging noise in coronary arteries during fast reconstruction with SENSE. I worked then in the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Disease (CNIC).

After that, I moved in 2018 to Sweden, where I completed my Master's in Information Technologies in Medical Engineering, with special focus to the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques in Medical data. I completed my thesis on kidney image analysis in the company Antaros Medical. Afterwards I became employed here in June 2020.
