Description
We combine perovskites with organic dye molecules to form a new class of hybrid optoelectronics. Inclusion of dye molecules into perovskite devices will give these devices new functionalities. In perovskite solar cells, dye molecules may contribute to the photovoltaic effect and can extend the absorption spectrum of the solar cell, a process called dye-sensitization. In perovskite LEDs, included dye molecules can modify the light emission spectrum, as dye molecule-based emission may occur.
Dye molecules specifically located at interface can also provide fundamental insight into processes occurring at these interfaces, such as ion movement.
