Physical Chemistry

Within the research programme for physical chemistry, we use physics - primarily thermodynamics and quantum mechanics - to explain and study chemical phenomena at the molecular level.
Our research
Our research within the Physical Chemistry research programme focuses around solar cells, artificial photosynthesis and solar fuel, as well as chemical dynamics.

Education within Physical Chemistry
You can study physical chemistry at Uppsala University through our Master's Programme in Chemistry - Physical and Computational Chemistry. Closely related to physical chemistry is also the Master's Programme in Chesmitry's study track in Chemistry for Renewable Energy.
There are courses in physical chemistry within our Bachelor programme in chemistry and the Chemical engineering program. They are, however, given in Swedish.
NOTE: If you are interested in physical chemistry it is also useful to take courses in mathematics and physics.
