Physical Chemistry 2026

19–20 March, 2026, at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden

SCW logo

A two day, discussion driven conference for the Swedish physical chemistry community, including PhD students and postdocs.

Spanning photochemistry, reaction dynamics, energy, surfaces and colloids, and biophysical chemistry.

Join us in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Svedberg's Nobel Prize in Chemistry!

The year 2026 marks one hundred years since The Svedberg was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for pioneering work on colloids.

To celebrate this centennial and look ahead to the next century of discovery, the Svedberg Centennial Workshop: Physical Chemistry in Sweden 2026 brings together the national community for two intensive days of science and discussion in Uppsala on 19–20 March, 2026.

We welcome contributions across physical chemistry, including, but not limited to:

  • Photochemistry and photoinduced processes
  • Molecular reaction dynamics & spectroscopy
  • Energy conversion and storage (light harvesting, catalysis, solar fuels, batteries)
  • Surfaces, interfaces and colloids
  • Biophysical chemistry and biomolecular interactions
