Hello there, Maria Ask!

Uppsala University is leading the application to establish the Centre of Excellence for Deep Geothermal Energy (DEGREE). This week, a webinar will be held where you can learn more about the centre's focus and the opportunity to become a member of the centre of excellence.

What is the purpose of the webinar?

We want to present plans for a new centre of excellence for deep geothermal energy and invite companies and organisations that want to be involved in the application.

Why is deep geothermal energy interesting right now?

Deep geothermal energy is a multifunctional energy source. Local and weather-independent base power and heat can be produced around the clock, with low climate and environmental impact and limited land use. At the same time, critical raw materials can be extracted without traditional mining. Deep geothermal energy can thus become a central part of a future fossil-free energy system.

Who should participate in the webinars?

– Stakeholders in energy, industry, technology, the public sector, finance and academia – in short, anyone who wants to be involved in developing deep geothermal energy in Sweden.
