The Linnaean Collaboration – Research at the Intersection of Nature, Health, and Sustainability
The Linnaean Collaboration for Studies of Nature, Health and Sustainability supports innovative and interdisciplinary research inspired by Carl von Linné’s holistic view of health. Its goal is to establish the Linné Gardens as a leading source of inspiration for botanical gardens in Sweden and internationally.
Rooted in Linné’s legacy at Uppsala University, the collaboration combines research on the importance of nature for mental health, biodiversity, and sustainable urban development. The Linné Gardens serve as a platform for research, education, and public engagement while offering the city’s residents a sanctuary for recovery.
Through partnerships with Uppsala Municipality, EU projects, and local stakeholders, the Linnaean Collaboration bridges natural sciences, behavioral research, and societal development. It strengthens the connections between nature, health, and sustainability – in the spirit of Linné.
