Sven Nelander – Characterization of brain tumours using systems biology
Our team is investigating cancers of the nervous system in adults and children. The goal is to understand the principles that govern these cancers' growth and to discover new treatments. We are also interested in fundamental, systems biology aspects of cancer cell plasticity.
The team members have different expertise, ranging from medicine and biotechnology to mathematics and AI. Our research approach is based on a strong integration of patient-specific experimental models, state-of-the-art molecular biology, and large-scale computation. Focusing on nervous systems cancers, the interdisciplinary methodology that we are developing can also be of great value in other areas of oncology.
