Carl-Henrik Heldin
Professor at Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology; Biochemistry and Cancer
C-H. Heldin is a member of several learned societies, including the European Molecular Biology Organization, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Academia Europea, and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is honorary doctor at the Universities of Patras, Helsinki, Turku and Heidelberg. He serves or has served on the Scientific Advisory Boards for several companies and academic institutions, including the German Cancer Center, Heidelberg, Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Martinsried, European Institute for Oncology, Milan, and European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg.
C.-H. Heldin was Vice President of the European Research Council until 2014, and is an Associate Editor for Molecular Biology of the Cell, Genes to Cells and Growth Factors. In addition, C.-H. Heldin is the chair of the boards of the Nobel Foundation, Science for Life Laboratory, EMBL-node Molecular Infection Sweden in Umeå, and European Molecular Biology Organization.
Alexandra Teleki
Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor at Department of Pharmacy; Molecular Pharmaceutics
Alexandra Teleki is an Associate Professor (docent in pharmaceutics) in the Drug Delivery group at Uppsala University, Sweden. She received her MSc in Chem Eng from KTH Stockholm, Sweden (2003) and her PhD from ETH Zurich, Switzerland (2008). Then she joined the Formulation and Application R&D department at DSM Nutritional Products in Basel, Switzerland (2010-2016). Her research has been recognized internationally by several awards including the 2016 Smoluchowski Award, the 2016 SABIC Young Professional Award, the 2009 DSM Science and Technology Awards and the 2008 ETH Medal for Outstanding PhD.
Carolina Wählby

Director of the SciLifeLab BioImage Informatics Facility
The Wählby lab, also known as the Quantitative Microscopy group, headed by Professor Carolina Wählby, is part of SciLifeLab and the Centre for Image Analysis, and based at the Division of Visual Information and Interaction at the Department of Information Technology, Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. Their research is focused on quantitative microscopy, developing digital image processing and analysis methods and tools for applications in life science. Artificial intelligence, in the form of deep learning and deep convolutional networks for analysis of microscopy data is an important part of their research.
