The arena promotes cross-disciplinary research using AI and computational methods to drive innovation in science, healthcare, and personalized medicine, strengthening Uppsala University’s leadership in responsible data-driven research.

About

The Data-Driven Science and Medicine arena brings together researchers across divisions to advance methods and activities leveraging computational methods, including AI/ML, optimization, image analysis, computer vision, and large-scale data analysis to promote scientific discovery and healthcare. Fostering collaboration between computer and computational scientists, clinicians, and domain experts, the mission is to promote cross-disciplinary research that deepens our understanding of physical and biological systems and medical practice. The long-term goal is to drive innovation in science and engineering, medical diagnostics, treatment, and personalized medicine. The arena aims to catalyze new research constellations, enabling collective efforts to launch innovative projects, strengthening Uppsala University as a leader in responsible, data-driven approaches to science and medicine.
