Collaboration and outreach at the Department of Information Technology
The Department of Information Technology interacts with schools and the general public in various activities such as study visits and SciFest. Our collaboration with industry and society spans a wide range of information and communication technology areas. It involves our students, researchers and teachers and spans everything from thesis projects and guest lectures to national and international joint research projects.
Schools and the general public
We interact with schools and the general public through activities such as SciFest, Almedalen and study visits. Popular science descriptions of (parts of) our research can be found here. You can also listen to some our researchers presenting their research in the UppTalk podcast series.
- If you represent a school or other institution and would like to receive a visit from a researcher, please contact the Head of Collaboration and Outreach (via email) to find out more.

Industry and society
Collaboration with actors from industry and society is largely done through research projects. The department has research projects with all types of companies and social actors from large tech giants such as Microsoft Intel, Arm and Ericsson, to municipalities and local authorities, and smaller local companies. Some of the department's doctoral students are industrial doctoral students in collaborative research projects and the department's employees are active in various expert groups, councils and boards of companies and social actors.
